The Route

The expedition’s starting point is on the Spanish island of Mallorca. S/Y CoCo will be lying fully rigged and ready in Port Adriano at the south end of the island when the crew arrive the 4th of october.

The first leg of the trip will take us along the coast of Spain, through the Strait of Gibraltar, southwards along the coast of Morroco, and eventually to the Canary Islands. We have estimated our time of arrival on Gran Canaria to be on or around November 9th.

The annual Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC) starts November 23rd with an expected time of arrival in Rodney Bay, Saint Lucia, between the 10th and 15th of Desember. From here on, we will improvise and adjust our sailing plan from day to day, all the while planning to visit most of the Lesser Antilles, continuing to the Dutch Antilles, crossing over to Haiti, Cuba and the Dominican Republic, before we round of our time in the Caribbean on the British Virgin Isles around the end of april.

On our way back to the Mediterranean Sea, we will sail north in order to catch the currents and winds to take us east via the Azores and back through the Strait of Gibraltar. Our expected arrival date in CoCo’s home port near Split, Croatia, is the 15th of June.
